Creative Soul Women’s Writing Retreat
September 23-25, 2022
(Nestled in the Texas Hill Country near Austin)
With Carolyn Scarborough
In the midst of our daily lives, we tend to forget. Caught up in distractions, the needs of others, and the doing-ness of it all… we forget who we really are. Instead of connecting with our unlimited, flowing inner Creatrix, we believe we are human “doings” with a mission of checking off daily tasks.
Sometimes writing even becomes one of those “tasks,” or it’s abandoned altogether.
Let’s do this another way. Instead of shrinking, how about if we let our inner-creative stretch into her fullness? Imagine stepping into an environment so restorative, so heart welcoming, so inspiring that she can’t help but emerge. And when she does, words flow along with new possibilities and energy.
That ambiance is exactly what you’ll find at the Creative Soul Women’s Writing Retreat this September.
Your retreat was a magical combination of mind, body and spirit. That freed me to discover my inner creativity! I loosened up enough to experience the wonder-filled child I once was. The women were smart, joyful and spiritual. Great camaraderie, smart conversation. – Bonnie Parker
What you will experience…
- Deep renewal in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
- Creative practices to spark new writing and fresh life possibilities
- Daily gentle yoga for deeper, more embodied writing (and just ‘cause it feels luscious!)
- Guided nature experiences along trails and by the creek
- Creative unblocking exercises
- Luxurious stretches of time to write uninterrupted interspersed with structured activities.
- Optional sharing of writing in small groups
- Connecting with a community of wise, creative women – during and after the retreat
For the first time I experienced what is referred to as “flow” with my writing. I became prolific! I felt like the words came through me and my job was to write quickly enough to capture it. – Karen Furey
Whether you are a seasoned writer or periodic journaler, you will find space to let your imagination roam amid 230 acres of beautiful Texas Hill Country landscape. Take your journal and sit beside the creek shaded by natural limestone walls. Contemplate on a bench beneath live oak trees, or find a cozy chair by a window to dream. And if the exotic fuels your imagination, follow one of the spectacular peacocks that stroll the grounds.
I became energized and alive to possibilities. – Donna Linn

“Carolyn holds the space so beautifully and with such a sense of safety and nurturing that your creative self can’t help but find its way to the surface and blossom. Reluctance falls away and even latent ability awakens. I began with an open writer’s mind and through the exercises, my writer’s heart burst open too. Carolyn helped me re-establish a vital connection within myself as a creative writer, and for that I’m super grateful! — Angela Loeb
