Creative Journey Writing Circles
(In-person and Virtual)
You have a whispering to write. Maybe you know in your heart that you have deeper wisdom to share and a sense that now is finally YOUR time.
You also know that you can’t do it alone. You’ve tried the solo trudge. You either get distracted, stopped by negative inner voices or find it too easy to put your creative life last. Enthusiasm launches you… but when it fades, there’s nothing to sustain you.
There’s a better way.
Can you imagine a small group of fellow writers (new and seasoned) to cheer you on? What about laser coaching to keep you on track? And a structure that works not through harsh accountability, but from continually re-inspiring you to remember what matters most?
That’s what you’ll find in Creative Journey Writing Circles. Need help figuring out how to begin your writing project (or even what you want to create)? What about your message? Or how to get back your mojo after years of writing? (And yes, we see that book gathering dust in your drawer.) We’ve got you covered, and in a way that honors your individual rhythms and lifestyle.
Join us and gather with your peeps – other women desiring to write books, blogs, poetry, memoirs, leave written legacies and more. You’ll not only get traction with your writing, but you’ll get plenty of deep personal insights and laughter along the way!
What you’ll find here is:
- Moving forward from a place of inspiration, not push (ugh, who wants that?!)
- Self-care for the Writer… which unlocks the gates to the Writing.
- Gentle dissolving of blocks so that writing happens… along with a more creative, inspired life.
- Personal check-ins and coaching, followed by compassionate intention setting.
- A place where people “get you” and the joys and challenges of the creative life.
- A space where you and your writing are prioritized, not put on the back burner.
- Small group coaching by a seasoned, professionally trained life and writing coach.
- Free membership in the larger online and in-person Creative Soul Community.
Creative Journey Writing Circle Options
Virtual Writing Circles
No matter where you live, we create an intimate community of writers with weekly one-hour calls. We begin with centering, then individual check-ins with coaching to address obstacles, followed by compassionate intention setting for the upcoming week.
This is a safe, small group environment (no more than 6 per circle) where the focus is not how much writing you can get done in as short a time as possible (we’ll leave that stressful approach to other programs). The focus here is on how to write in a way that honors your individual creating style, energy, lifestyle and goals.
Interested? A new virtual circle will be launching in spring of 2018. Join my mailing list to be the first to get details.
In-Person Circles
These circles gather on comfy couches in a private coffee shop room in Austin, Texas. Connections are weekly and alternate between in-person and telephone get-togethers. (Retaining intimacy, but with less travel time.)
To keep your writing project moving forward, meetings include centering, check-ins with individual coaching, time to write, and setting compassionate intentions for the upcoming week. (And perhaps a latte…)
This is a safe, small group environment (no more than 5 per circle) where the focus is not how much writing you can get done in as short a time as possible (we’ll leave that stressful approach to other programs). The focus here is on how to write in a way that honors your individual creating style, energy, lifestyle and goals.
Interested? A new in-person circle will be launching in summer of 2018. Join my mailing list to be the first to get details.

Feeling inspired to go beyond my self-imposed limits

Connecting with Carolyn’s writing group is the sparkle of my week. It’s a safe space for risk-taking and I always leave our sessions feeling inspired to go beyond my self-imposed limits. Through Carolyn’s compassionate coaching, I have found my voice, become a daily journaler, learned to appreciate my gifts, and composed poetry and prose which will be sent to publishers in the next few months. This positive experience has been life changing for me. Thank you again for never letting me give up the Dream.
I was in need of compassionate accountability

When Carolyn proposed leading a new writing group, I was uncertain. I wasn’t in need of a critique group. I was, however, in need of compassionate accountability. Carolyn’s knowledgeable guidance has not only bound me to five intelligent, capable, and creative women, but with the support of this group I recently finished a novel I began 12 years ago. This group has helped me set needed boundaries around my creative time. How can I not endorse the leadership and support that has brought that enrichment?
Led me to the well of self-compassion

Never trust a therapist who doesn’t have a therapist. Never trust a writing coach who doesn’t have a writing coach.
Carolyn and I are colleagues, friends, and now she has become my coach — a teacher who understands my needs and is successfully moving me forward.
Carolyn has an intuitive gene that’s hard to come by. Add to that her laser focus and laser coaching and you have a winning combination. But the key element of her teaching/coaching abilities is the compassionate way in which she helps you move forward. She has led me to the well of self-compassion, creating a much better space for me in which to write. In addition, within 6 months of joining her writing circle, I finished a memoir I had been working on for 12 years and struggling to complete.
She is genuine. She is knowledgeable. She is authentic. What more could you want?
Gentle guidance and soul-searching questions keep me exploring my depths

The first time my inner writer was released was at one of Carolyn’s Writing Retreats I was inspired and reunited with my love of writing. Alas, it is hard to stay motivated and on track; but enter Carolyn’s ongoing Creative Journey Writing Circles. Shazam! I am writing up a storm and loving every minute of it. Carolyn’s gentle guidance and soul-searching questions keep me exploring my depths and reaching new highs with my writing skills. The ongoing contact each week keeps me focused, creatively stimulated, and deeply connected to other brilliant and talented women. Love it!
