Find your way back to writing.

You’ve felt the quiet pull to write, maybe towards a book, a blog, poetry, or an idea that keeps circling back, but life has a way of pushing those creative urges aside. Clear Stream Writing Circles offer a steady, nourishing place to return.

Many women join with tangible projects already in motion. Others arrive with scattered notes, a long-held dream, or simply a sense that something wants to be written. Some come to see what’s inside, to reconnect with their voice, or to put words to what they’re feeling, sometimes for the first time in years.

You are trusted to listen inward and decide what this season asks of you.

This isn’t about harsh deadlines. It’s about protecting the flame of your creative life, and giving it enough structure, time, and companionship for meaningful work to take shape naturally.

Over time, pages accumulate. Ideas clarify. Drafts deepen. And your relationship with writing becomes steadier and more alive.

You don’t need a finished idea or a polished voice. You simply need a willingness to show up just as you are.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Some writing circles focus primarily on craft and critique. These gatherings are more like structured mini-retreats for women who want to prioritize their writing and uncover what’s inside, whether for reflection or a project. Each session includes restorative time to pause, reflect, write, and share in a way that feels safe and spacious. Reading aloud is optional, and feedback is invitational, designed to support forward movement without diminishing your voice.

  • We set small, realistic intentions that fit into real life and meet obstacles with compassion and curiosity. There’s no “behind” here — only remembering what you want and gently returning to it. Over time, this steady rhythm builds real creative momentum.

  • These are intimate, ongoing circles, and women commit to a season (about 2–3 months) when they join. Some come for a single season; others return again and again over the years. New cycles are announced through the newsletter, and women on the waitlist receive early notification when spots become available.

  • That’s completely up to you. Some women write between sessions; others write only during our time together. We support you in creating a sustainable, human-sized writing rhythm — whatever that looks like for you. Some circles also include optional Friday Field Notes with gentle prompts to keep the creative current alive between meetings.

  • Both are warmly welcome. The focus is on nourishing the writer first, so words can flow more easily and honestly — whether you’re returning after many years away or deep into a manuscript.

  • No. Sharing is always optional. You’re welcome to write solely for yourself. When sharing does happen, it’s invitational and held with care — without pressure to perform, explain, or polish.

  • Yes. You’re welcome to bring an active manuscript, a blog in progress, a collection of notes, or simply a desire to explore through journaling. Some women spend a season incubating before committing to a larger work. Others come simply to be in this supportive, creative container and see what wants to emerge. All of it is honored here.

  • Feedback is optional and supportive, focused on resonance, reflection, and clarity rather than critique. The intention is to honor and mirror your voice, not to reshape it or override your creative instincts.

Quieting the inner critic

“Meeting Carolyn was pure serendipity. We were at Mozart’s in Austin on a cool June morning, sitting at neighboring tables. I noticed Carolyn was writing and immediately confessed my own dream to get back to the page. When she mentioned her writing circles, I knew our meeting was divine. Carolyn leads us with such humility, encouraging us to stay the course and quiet the inner critic that holds so many of us back. After just a few sessions and circles, my confidence has grown, my creative channels are open, and for the first time, my inner critic is stepping back.”

– Megan, Business Owner

Permission field

“Before I joined Carolyn’s writing circle, I had no idea how to take my writing to the next level. Soon I landed my first publishing deal with “Crying Is Like the Rain.” Being in Carolyn’s orbit is like stepping into a permission field. She has an extraordinary ability to see through the clouds and locate the hidden rainbows of light. I’ve learned to see myself as a writer with more confidence, clarity, and trust.

– Heather, Therapist & Writer

Keep Coming Back

“I have been attending Carolyn’s Writing Circles off and on for 9 years. I have attended back-to-back sessions and taken a two-year hiatus. When I walk back into a writing circle it feels like a big hug. There is acceptance from the group whether it is meeting in person or virtually. It doesn’t matter where I am in my personal writings, the only expectation is that I show up for myself and reconnect with my desire to write.”

– Tricia, Writer
