Our job in this lifetime is not to shape ourselves into some ideal we imagine we ought to be, but to find out who we already are and become it. – Steven Pressfield
Throughout the year I offer women’s circles in Austin, Texas. (Not from Austin? No problem, I also offer teleclasses that you can join from anywhere in the world.) These are focused on anything from discovering yourself through writing to thriving in the second half of life. What you’ll find is:
- Intimate groups of conscious women
- A retreat-like feel with private writing time, prompts, discussion, poetry and grounding meditations
- Creative and spiritual renewal
- Safe, nurturing, non-judgmental space for blossoming
- Private Facebook group for those who want further connection
Some of the group offerings are:
Reclaiming your Creative Heartbeat – a place to reconnect with your inspiration.
Recreating ourselves in the Second Half of Life – a deep dive into who we really are, rekindling passion and discovering what’s next.
Reconnecting with your Inner Writer – reawakening your inner writer, who is already there and waiting…

Nurturing, compassionate space and time for my Self
When I first joined these Circles, I expected new friends (and I made them). I also made a friend in my Self. I love Carolyn’s lovely home and her calm, receptive, intuitive, lighthearted encouragement. Overall, attending these Circles has allowed me to carve out a nurturing, compassionate space and time for my Self. Ahhhh….
It feels good to remember who I am
During the Creative Soul Women’s Circles, I have reflected on what is important to me and have shifted my default thinking and actions back to what makes my heart sing and tickles my joy chord. For those few hours on a Wednesday night, I give myself permission to deviate from the “expected” mode of being and operating by igniting what is true and key to my core. I am not always able to sustain these moments – life draws me back to what I think is expected of me. But finding a reprieve to nurture and feed my soul is a God send. It serves to remind me of my true self and allows me to feel empowered. It feels good to remember who I am at my center and to selflessly applaud, acknowledge and honor the beautiful, powerful and loving being that I am.
The ultimate mentor for creative souls
The Circle has taught me that there is more to life and I can have it, be it, do it. I can give myself permission to try anything and not be judged by anyone. Carolyn is an amazing person and the ultimate mentor for creative souls. I’m so glad I found her!
Carolyn’s authentic “being” with all of us fostered a safe environment
The welcoming setting of Carolyn’s home and her open and warm facilitation — with clear and gentle guidance — immediately established that this was a safe and nurturing environment. Her curiosity and encouragement, and active participation, provides a sense that we are all learning and exploring together. I can’t say enough about how Carolyn’s authentic “being” with all of us fostered a safe environment for personal exploration. These Circles are an exceptional experience.
